Carp Fishing Robin Red Bait Secrets!

Few carp anglers have never heard of the world famous carp bait additive called Robin Red which has been an enormously important bait ingredients for both homemade and readymade baits for decades. Find out more about how to exploit this wonder bait here...

Although Robin Red is the original formula from Haiths in the UK, it is also sold through so many fishing bait companies around the world it is quite staggering and sometimes copies are made (but then how do you make a copy when the actual formula has never been released?) Among Haiths famous products applied to or designed for carp fishing as opposed to just bird raising are these: Robin Red, Red Factor, Prosecto Insectivorous, Nectarblend, Red Band, Carpticle Mix, Super Red, Hempseed, Soft bill, and Multi Mix. Anglers have been involved in the designing of some of these products to help fellow anglers really get the best from them as baits and in baits with good mutually beneficial reasons; Rod Hutchinson is one such leading light.

Among such bird food products Robin Red is the best known and is literally a legend when it comes to carp bait ingredients and additives etc today. Hinders offer other bird foods which have also been integral in the success and universal use of bird food based carp baits throughout the world today. Countless modern carp bait companies have taken hinders and Rod Hutchinsons leads for example and formulated their own commercial bird food based baits ranges and now additives and liquids etc based around robin red and chilli for instance are extremely fashionable and successfully proven; such as the Ccmoore Red Venom additive.

So many commercial ground baits and readymade boilies and pellets contain Robin Red that it may be that using a homemade bait without it means your personal unique homemade bait is the only bait that does not contain it at your water! Using a bait with very low levels or even no Robin Red can even work in your favour as carp might well regard it as an indicator of potential danger these days on pressured carp waters. In doing further research on this product you will discover ways to incorporate known components of it into your baits and make your bait effective while avoiding using robin Red itself...

Uses and methods of application of robin Red are many, and it can be added to boilie and pellets base mixes, ground baits of all forms (and clouds water and dyes your dyes fingers red! Try dampening Robin Red with PVA-friendly liquids such as the excellent Ccmoore Red Venom, (which is absolutely ideal for the job,) and contains certain very concentrated levels of similar Robin Red bioactive components! Robin Red used in solution (with water added) produces a good bait soak for boilies, pellets and as liquid boosts for ground baits and maggots etc; although this watered-down version is not as intensely stimulating as Red Venom which as a concentrated product is most excellent for summer conditions and winter especially.

The ingredients and components in robin Red have been speculated on for decades and a few of these have been identified but apparently no-one has actually copied the original accurately, although most copies will still stain your hands red and turn fish red too! One fact about Robin Red which has been confirmed is that it does not contain the antioxidant pigment Carophyll Red, but what about cantaxanthin perhaps? Whatever Robin Red contains, it sure works!

Homemade boilies benefit even form just an ounce per pound of dry base mix of Robin Red, and even the cheapest soya and semolina mixes are boosted significantly by the highly nutritional stimulation of Robin Red. To boost your pellets, wet them with any liquid even water, and add Robin Red; the red clouding of the water around your bait will certainly improve results when fishing for sight-feeding carp too. Haiths have a mix call Super Red incorporating Robin Red, (which can even be applied in PVA products in neat dry form,) and it contains the following great ingredients:

In Super Red is Robin Red, Red Factor, crushed hemp, aniseed oil, crushed tiger nuts, Carpticle mix, peanut granules and teasel seeds. This sounds really good, but this is just one combination of many you can formulate yourself to save yourself a fortune and maximise your catch results; so now read on to find out more on how to really do this yourself and catch loads more big carp...

Motorhome Hire Holidays are Credit Crunch Holidays

Posted on February 24, 2009 at 4:13 pm in
by Susan Lomas

With the poor exchange rate of the pound sterling against the euro, British residents will get much less for their money in Europe unless the present situation improves. At the time of this press release, (December 16th 2008), we are seeing "parity" between the pound sterling and the euro for the first time ever.

As a result of this many British people will be considering not going abroad for their 2009 holiday unless the situation improves.

This is why a really smart move is to have a motorhome holiday in 2009. If the pound to euro exchange rate does not improve before the summer then a motorhome holiday in the United Kingdom makes good financial sense.

If the exchange rate (sterling/euro) should improve in the pound sterling's favour then you could still take your already hired motorhome to Europe and make the most of getting more euros for your money. Countries such as Spain and also the former Eastern block countries such as Croatia have great cheap campsites and meals out are inexpensive.

Better petrol and diesel prices: It is worth noting that economic and political circumstances surrounding America and the Middle East have meant that fuel prices have stabilized during the autumn of 2008. Fuel prices are less expensive than they have been for a long time, a situation which looks likely to last into 2009 and a factor that is very important if you are considering a touring holiday.

Investing in Britain: If you do "holiday at home" in England, Scotland and Wales, you will be aiding small businesses in your own country. You may be helping other people just like you to provide for their families. You will be making a "ecological choice" too by not flying to your holiday destination.

When you hire your motorhome in the United Kingdom and you pay in pounds sterling, you are not affected by fluctuations in the European exchange rate.

Families love motorhome holidays: Children love camping holidays but sometimes Mums and Dads find the "under canvas" variety somewhat lacking in luxury!

California Hiking Trails – There are a number of different types

There are times of the year that hiking in California is so beautiful that you will want to go every weekend! Maybe even take a week and see more than one area of the state on different trails. If you are looking for some of the best hiking trails around rivers, glaciers, deserts, the coastline or the grasslands California has it all.

Mount Tallac offers you a 9.4 mile round trip hike at an elevation reaching 9.735 ft. The gain on this hike is 3.255 ft so make sure you have lots of water, good shoes and are in good condition for this hike. As probably on of the best trails in the Lake Tahoe region you will enjoy the stunning views from the summit. Even with the best camera you probably won't be able to capture the beauty that your eyes will see and memories will retain. With both wooded areas and mountainous areas the hike gives you the diversity you are probably looking for. You will pass two lakes on this hike. The switchbacks are a steep climb taking you up to the summit which will be very hot, so be ready.

The hike to Upper Yosemite Falls is 7.2 miles round trip. The elevation at the summit is 6,526 ft and an elevation gain of 2,700 ft. You will want to do this hike from May to jUly when the waterfall is at its full force and most beautiful. You will hike through switchbacks in the forested area before coming to the flat area with your first view of the falls. Enjoy the mist from the falls as you get closer to it. You will face another set of switchbacks before reaching the summit. These are the most difficult and very steep so if you aren't in good physical condition you will want to pass on this part.

Let's switch areas and go to Mosaic Canyon and look at the hike that is available there. The trail is just 2.5 miles round trip. It is best to take this one from December to March to avoid the extreme heat of the desert. Be sure to bring plenty of water, you'll need it. While hiking on the mountains is fabulous so is canyon hiking. The canyon formations are beautiful. You may even see some desert life on your hike. This is the hottest place in the US so be sure to pack in lots of water..regardless of the time of year.

If you want the most challenging trail in California you will want to hike Mt. Shasta. This trail is 12 miles round trip with body assaulting climbs. Not only is the climb a challenge physically but at an elevation of 14,179 ft at the summit and a gain of 7,259 during your climb you are going to experience pain you only thought about before. You need to plan this hike for between May and mid July due to the changing weather. In the spring the storms can hit quickly and violently and in the summer you are facing lava rocks that are nasty on your body and feet and the risk of rolling boulders that have come loose with the snow melt that will roll down the mountain and your chances of getting out of the way are limited at best. Not only that but you will face the problem of altitude sickness so be sure you hike with a partner for safety reasons and practical sense. You must be in superior physical condition to take on this challenge. If you aren't, find another path to hike.

For the hike at Mt. Shasta you will want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and ice axe, shelter (remember, you are going way up and the weather may change in a minute where you need protection.) Bring your crampons, helmet, summit pass, winter boots, and extra layers of clothing and plenty of water. Don't plan on "ice melt" for water; bring it with you since most of the snow around Helen's Lake is contaminated by urine...yes, human and animal. Sweet.

Half Dome is a 16 mile round trip hike with an elevation gain of 4,800 ft to the elevation of 8,842. This is a great hike for between late May and early October. Because of the location, view and degree of difficulty people from all over the world come to hike at Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. This is a day hike that challenges you so if you aren't prepared with a great degree of fitness and lots of experience pass on this one. The climb through the switchbacks is rocky so be careful not to injure an ankle. If you reach the top of Nevada Falls (the halfway point) you will want to assess your skills and ability to continue on as well as adjust to the altitude change. To continue on be prepared to have a very steep, excruciatingly long climb to the back of the Half Dome rock. This is a most difficult climb with more switchbacks continually assaulting your body. If you have done your research you know about the Half Dome cables but you can't know the shock and fear experienced once you are in front of them until you are there. Now you need to reevaluate your physical condition to see if you are up to the risks involved in continuing up. The view from there is terrific with Yosemite Valley below, but make sure you are ready for this type of challenge before you even begin the hike. It isn't for the weak or physically unprepared.

What Is The Basic Camping Gear?

Posted on February 17, 2009 at 7:38 am in
by Jackie Silver

With camping, however you would personally need to ensure that you have all the basic camping gear in place before you start.

Many people bring hammocks along on their camping trips, but then never use them any other time of the year. All you have to do is find two trees in your own yard, and you can relax in your hammock all summer long.

Pack flashlights for adults, and one for each child if children will be camping - this will avoid arguments on who gets to use the flashlight. Battery powered headlamps can provide light for nighttime activities.

Beginning with the tent, ensure you have exactly what you need like a stove which you may need especially at camp sites which do not allow open fires, a comfortable and compact sleeping bag, sturdy but lightweight multi-purpose cookware, lanterns and torches and first aid kits.

In addition to offering basic camping gear, camping supplies stores also have portable showers and toilets. You could even add on any type of accessory that you may desire from microwaves and refrigerators to air conditioners and heaters if your campsite has electricity.

Choosing camping gear is not about buying the latest, most popular or even the most expensive equipment. Camping equipment should be affordable and suitable for your needs.

You also wouldn't want to carry too much gear and equipment if you can. The rule of thumb is to carry not more than a third of your body weight.

To make a dynamic camping checklist that you be useful for different occasions make a note of which camping gear you did or did not use and alter you list accordingly.

While the camping gear checklist can possibly make your backpack lighter by reducing the number of camping, it may take a few camping trips to get it right.

Navigation in the snow can be very hard. That is why you ought to bring GPS tools that can help you find your way even if the roads and foot trails are all covered in snow.

Backpacking : Traveling redefined

Posted on February 13, 2009 at 2:23 am in
by Joseph Then

Have you ever wondered how it is to actually travel alone? Well, I know because I have been backpacking. I know how it feels to go to a new place and learn something new, and also make new friends. If you don't know anything about backpacking, read this article because I am going to offer you some tips/reasons.

Firstly, we have to understand what backpacking is. Backpacking is a form of low-cost travel. In other words, backpacking is a way where you can travel around without bringing too much money. But, backpacking means that there will be no luxuries like five star hotels and air-con malls.

One good thing about backpacking is that you can always go on your own and there is no need to get someone to tag along

One thing for sure; you won't be alone for long. When you travel alone it does not mean it has to be a lonely trip. Here is the first tip on making friends while traveling.

Here's a tip; the easiest way to meet people when traveling is to get involved in activities. This way you will meet new people and be in a shared situation where conversation comes easily. Here's another tip if you're traveling alone; simply strike up conversation with someone with a smile.

Do you have a hectic and busy life? Well, here is a good reason you can get out of it. Take a break; go backpacking. Leave all your problems at home and travel.

Well, if you have a serious relationship and you think that you need a break, you should take a time out and go backpacking. Another alternative is to set ground rules before setting off.

Making the decision to travel solo is a great step, but it's important to know what it is you actually want to do while traveling.

If you think that you don't know what you are doing, you should do some research about the countries you are going to before setting off? The other thing you should remember is that you also should learn how to manage you money well. The best suggestion I can give you is that you should take some pointer on managing your money.

The next reason why you should go backpacking is because it helps you become comfortable dealing with the unfamiliar. Traveling is hard for the first few weeks because you are dealing with constantly unfamiliar situations and surroundings.

If you are thinking that you need more confidence while traveling, carry a guide book with you. It helps if the guide books contain phrases that are commonly used in a country in their language.

Bringing home the different perspective of life is priceless. Some may be wondering why I say this. Simple, you have a first hand experience of different cultures and knowledge.

In order to do this, you need to gain as much experience and knowledge in your trip. This can be done by taking part and having fun during your trip.

In conclusion, it is always a great idea to go for backpacking. Do ensure that you have ample preparation so that you can make your backpacking experience more fulfilling
